Last Day to Register to Vote! Don’t Let Someone Choose for You!

Your Vote Counts Register to Vote

In America, we have the opportunity to elect our political leaders. Our founding fathers considered voting not only a right but also a duty. At the founding of this country, 100% of the citizens voted. Today, around 25% vote in general elections, and around 15% vote in primaries. And to think that our founders pledged their lives, fortunes, and sacred honor to establish this great country so that Americans can sit on the couch watching American Idol. Many of these same, non-voting Americans even have the nerve to complain about how the government is run! It’s time to get off of the couch, register to vote, and fulfill our duty to actively participate in the election process!

Today, Tuesday, January 3, is the last day to register to vote in the upcoming January 31 Florida Republican Presidential Preference Primary. Of course, you can register for any party of your choice or no party, but if you wish to participate in selecting the presidential candidate for the Republican party, you must be registered as a Republican no later than end of business today. Don’t stand by and let someone else choose the candidate, and by all means, don’t complain about the candidate if you don’t participate in the election process! Register to vote today! Educate yourself on where the candidates stand, and then

Sermon, 2012 – The End of an Error! Pastor Bryan Longworth, Covenant Tabernacle

You’ve probably seen the bumper sticker that reads: 2012: The end of an error. It’s probably on the car of a Republican who wants to see the end of the Obama administration.

2012 is a new year, and with a new year, we look for change. We look for the new year to be better than the previous year.

Certainly, we have been in some tough economic times in this country. These times have led many to ask, “How’s that hope and change working for you?” Certainly for a lot of people, not as well as they had hoped.

Merry Christmas from Pastor Bryan Longworth, Every Baby is a Gift from God

At this time of year, we remember the Christ child. Conceived by an unwed young girl and born in a lowly manger, the circumstances of his conception and birth could easily be described a crisis pregnancy, yet Jesus was and is the greatest gift of all.

Every child is a gift from God, regardless the circumstances surround her conception and birth. While not every child is planned or comes under perfect circumstances, every child is a blessing, for every child bears God’s image reminding us of how valuable we are to Him! How His heart must break when we despise His gift and seek abortion to kill the precious gift of God in the womb.

Our founding fathers recognized that “all men are created equal and endowed by their creator with certain unalienable rights among which are life

Sermon, 12-18-11, What Kind of Nation Have We Become When We Value Possessions More Than Human Life, Pastor Bryan Longworth, Covenant Tabernacle

You may recall the video on the Internet of the little girl in China who wandered away from her mom and wandered into the road where she was ran over by a van. Since China is a police state with cameras everywhere, the event was caught on video. You can see the passenger of the van look out and see the girl before the van drives away. Multiple people passed by, saw the girl dying in the middle of the street, and just walked on by.
I want to take you to another scene, one in America where shoppers walked over a dying man to preserve their place in the black Friday line. What kind of country have we become when life is so invaluable and when our focus is so much on material possessions and not on glorifying God, and when in this time economic uncertainty, in this time of need, in this time when we have a record number of foreclosures and people can’t pay their bills, we see more money spent on black Friday than any other Christmas ever? What kind of people have we become?
Watch the full sermon to hear how we need to seek to glorify God more than our possessions, restore the sanctity of human life, and restore fiscal responsibility. Mentioned in this sermon Abortion, the ProLife Personhood Movement, the Tea Party Movement, and Occupy Wall Street.

Sermon, 12/4/11, Why The Herman Cain Express Suffered a Massive Train Wreck, Character Does Count! Bryan Longworth, Covenant Tabernacle

If you read my previous post, Florida Presidency 5 Report: Why Did Delegates Hop on the Herman Cain Train?, you know that I was a delegate at Florida’s Presidency 5 (P5) Presidential Debate and Straw Poll held in Orlando FL. I supported, campaigned for, and voted for Herman Cain. I supported Cain because I believed the message he so eloquently presented, trusted that he was a man of integrity, and sensed the momentum would carry him to the top. As you know, that straw poll launched Cain’s campaign to the top of the Republican Presidential field and even above President Barack Obama, but the Cain Train has been derailed by accusations of sexual harassment and a 13 year affair. I addressed this topic in my sermon preached December 4, 2011:

I’m sure you’ve heard the news by now: The Herman Cain Express has suffered a severe train wreck. Why is it that Cain’s presidential campaign ended in disgrace. It is because character does count, especially if you’re a Republican. You see, there is a double standard in the media, and we have witnessed this time and time again. Bill Clinton’s multiple affairs prior to running for the presidency were totally ignored b y the mainstream media when Clinton ran for president. Our own St Lucie County School Board Member Kathryn Hensley said

Personhood FL Launches New Florida ProLife Personhood Amendment Petition!

Have you heard the news? Personhood FL has launched a new prolife petition called the Florida ProLife Personhood Amendment. Personhood FL will collect petition signatures from registered Florida voters January 2012 – December 2013. We need your help to contact every church, every pastor in your county!

Because of a bill passed by the FL Legislature this year that changed the shelf life of the petition signatures from 4 years to 2 years, we are launching a new two year petitioning effort beginning January 2012. We have taken this opportunity to launch the new Florida ProLife Personhood Amendment based on language endorsed by

Happy Thanksgiving from Personhood Florida, Help Us End Abortion

This is the time of year when we pause to give thanks to God for the many blessings He has bestowed upon us. Let us rejoice that our mothers chose life! God has given us the opportunity to live and the responsibility to work so that all may live free!

When I think about what Personhood Florida has been able to accomplish in the past year, I thank God! In the past two years:

We have developed connections with prolife people across the

We will not give up! We Will End Abortion! Will You Help?

With the loss of Mississippi’s Initiative 26, many in the prolife movement and the media have asked what is our strategy here in Florida. They are quick to point out that Mississippi is more prolife than Florida and ask how we think we can win if a similar initiative can’t even pass in Mississippi.
The good news is that leading up to and following the Mississippi vote, Personhood FL has linked up with new volunteers who are willing to help make the case for life in their county! We currently are working on a plan to contact every church in Florida between now and the end of the year so that the churches can present the Florida ProLife Personhood Petition to their parishioners in January, but we need your help to accomplish this. Will you help us take the message of life to every church, every pastor in your county? Please join us for a conference call/training tomorrow (Tuesday, November 15 from 9 – 10 PM) where we’ll go over how to contact the churches and pastors and the new FL ProLife Personhood Petition. This call will cover key strategies for ending abortion and protecting all innocent human life. Register to join us on the call below.

Press Conference Video: Children’s Services Council Cut $500,000 Planned Parenthood Tax Funding

Planned Parenthood Loses $500,000 Taxpayer Funding

Pastor Bryan Longworth: Four years ago I stood in front of this council and asked them to defund Planned Parenthood, and I was actually the only one at that point; but, thankfully, Dr Hofstee was there with me and got fired up, and what started was just letting people know and informing people that the Children’s Services Council was funding the largest abortion provider. However, even if you would go back a year ago with all the people that we had that came out, I wouldn’t have said that we’d be standing here today and seeing that Planned Parenthood was defunded; however, I do give glory and honor to God for this victory. I believe that His presence was with us. I also want to recognize the work of … Watch the video here

Planned Parenthood Loses $500,000 in St. Lucie Tax Funding

America’s largest abortion provider, Planned Parenthood (PP) was axed Thursday by yet another tax funded agency. The latest government entity to ditch the embattled abortion giant was the St. Lucie County Children’s Services Council (CSC), an independent taxing authority in Florida, which has funded PP with grants totaling nearly $4 million since 2002. St. Lucie Taxpayers Against Planned Parenthood Funding, led the effort to defund Planned Parenthood by organizing pickets and speaking at monthly public forums that eventually led to cessation of funding for PP, which was about $500,000 last fiscal year. The Florida based CSC joined the ranks of Indiana, Kansas, New Hampshire, New Jersey, North Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, and Wisconsin who all recently cut Planned Parenthood funding.

According to Dr. Michael Hofstee, an organizer from the

Thursday: Taxing Agency Voting to Defund Planned Parenthood!

The St. Lucie County Children’s Services Council (CSC), an independent taxing authority in Florida, has funded Planned Parenthood since 2002 and has awarded grants totaling nearly $4,000,000 to the organization, but that may all change Thursday when the CSC considers defunding Planned Parenthood. The CSC could join the likes of Indiana, Kansas, New Hampshire, New Jersey, North Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, and Wisconsin who all recently cut Planned Parenthood funding. The decision will be make by the CSC during their monthly meeting held Sept. 8 at 8:30 am, at the CSC office, 546 NW University Blvd, Suite 201, Port St. Lucie, FL 34986 across from the entrance to Tradition Field. (View a map here.)

St. Lucie Taxpayers Against Planned Parenthood Funding has led the effort to defund Planned Parenthood by organizing pickets and speaking at monthly meetings. The group postponed a picket of the TD Bank where board member Pat Alley works until after Thursday’s vote and hopes that that picket won’t be necessary. The group has promised to continue efforts to defund Planned Parenthood including picketing board members homes and places of work and campaigning against the Children’s Services Counsel the 2014 referendum that will allow St Lucie County voters to abolish the CSC. St. Lucie Taxpayers Against Planned Parenthood Funding will hold a press conference outside of the Children’s Services Counsel immediately following Tuesday’s vote.

What Would You Say To Someone Who Gives Your Tax Dollars To Planned Parenthood?

This week, a little-known St. Lucie County taxing authority, the Children’s Services Council (CSC), is once again giving consideration to funding abortion giant Planned Parenthood (PP) with local tax dollars.

Taxpayers attending this week’s public forum at 8:15am on Sept. 8, can use the crib sheet below to formulate factual comments that can used at the forum which will be held at

STOP Your Local St. Lucie Tax Dollars From Going To Planned Parenthood

St. Lucie Taxpayers Against Planned Parenthood Funding is recruiting fed-up local taxpayers. On Thursday September 8, 2011, the group will picket the Children’s Services Council Taxing Authority (CSC) meeting at 7:30 a.m. The CSC meeting starts at 8:15 am. The CSC has been funding Planned Parenthood (PP) with local tax dollars for many years including $500,000 last fiscal year. Altogether, PP, the largest provider of abortions in the U.S. has benefitted from more than $3 million in local St. Lucie tax dollars. Every year, a portion of St. Lucie residents’ property taxes go to the CSC. The little-known taxing authority can be located on residents’ property tax bill.

PP contends that tax dollars are not used directly to fund abortions. However, tax funded programs include graphic sex education youth programs that do not oppose

Sermon, Why We Must End Abortion NOW, Training Our Children to Obey God Where We Have Failed to Do So Pastor Bryan Longworth, Covenant Tabernacle, Personhood

No parent wants to admit to their children that they have made mistakes in the past, yet that is exactly what God asks parents in general and fathers in particular in Psalm 78. In the 60s, we saw the rise of the sexual revolution in America, and the promiscuity has gotten progressively worse since that time. It is time that we turn back to God and look at His principles and His precepts. Here in Psalm 78:1-8, we read,

Sermon, Why We Must End Abortion NOW – And Who Is My Neighbor? Pastor Bryan Longworth, Covenant Tabernacle

Why We Must End Abortion NOW, And Who is My Neighbor? The Scribes and Pharacies were always trying to trick Jesus into saying something that would get Him in trouble. They laid such a trap for Jesus when a lawyer asked Him which is the most important commandment. Jesus answered the question with a question. The lawyer answered correctly that we are to love God and our neighbor as ourselves. Jesus affirmed the answer directing the man, “do this and you will live,” but the lawyer wanting to justify himself said and who is my neighbor? Jesus then shared one of the most powerful parables in the Bible, the parable of the good Samaritan. A Jewish man is robbed, beaten, and left for dead. A priest came by and walked right by, refusing to be neighbor to the injured man. A Levite did the same. Then came a Samaritan. you may recall that the Jews despised Samaritans and viewed them as half breeds which they were because they were from Jewish decent whose parents had intermarried with pagan nations. The Samaritan bandaged the man’s wounds, carried him on his donkey to an inn, cared for him, and paid the inn keeper additional money to care for the man until he could care for himself. The Samaritan, was neighbor to the man in the ditch.

The lawyer asked, “and who is my neighbor”? In the parable of the Good Samaritan, Jesus flips the question and asks who will you be neighbor to? The Priest wasn’t neighbor to the man lying in the ditch. The Levite wasn’t neighbor to the man lying in the ditch. But the despised Samaritan was neighbor him.

And how about you? Preborn baby girls and boys are lying in the ditch scheduled for slaughter by safe, legal abortion. Will you pass by on the other side of the street, or will you be neighbor to the preborn?

Fathers’ Day Sermon, Every Child Needs a Hero, Pastor Bryan Longworth, Covenant Tabernacle Church

Every child needs a hero. When I grew up, my hero was my dad. Before I would ever see Johnny Bench throw out a base runner, or watch Pete Rose get a hit, or cheer as Terry Bradshaw threw another touchdown pass, or watch with amazement as Franco Harris grabbed the immaculate reception. or took part in a Mylon Lefevre and Broken Heart or Stryper concert, my dad was my hero. I wanted to be like him. When he went to school, I got my books out so that I would look like him. I couldn’t wait each day until he picked me up from daycare! And the day I saw him working on the water fountain at my school, nothing could keep me from getting to him, not my teacher, not the gate fence, nothing. My dad taught me to have a
